Kids as young as five will be heading to summer camps across Akron starting Monday. And though many of the camps are full, it’s not too late to register for spots in the ones still open.
The day camps, run by the City of Akron Recreation and Parks, feature themes for different age groups. For younger children, there is “Mix It Up Mania” and “Tots in Space.” For kids in middle school and high school, there is a golf camp and a math camp.
The themed three-day camps are taking place at community centers in Ellet, Firestone Park, Kenmore, Northwest Akron and Summit Lake.
Eight-week camps, which run Monday through Aug. 2, are being held at several locations, including in East Akron, West Akron, Middlebury and Goodyear Heights.
