METRO bus drivers and other transit workers voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to allow their union to call a strike, following years of failed contract negotiations. “It’s unprecedented,” Transport Workers Union Local 1 President Wayne Cole said of the 269-1 vote to authorize a strike, if a contract can’t be agreed upon. “I feel leverage and I feel solidarity with my people. I’m just elated.”
