Black, Hispanic communities have higher risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, expert says
Representatives from the Alzheimerโs Association and the City of Akron shared resources on Alzheimer’s and dementia diagnosis and care, emphasizing that Black and Hispanic communities are at higher risk. Environmental initiatives, including Project ACORN, a program offering free trees in five specific neighborhoods to address declining tree canopy and related health impacts were also discussed.
