Vacant lots, business growth are targets of South Akron, Kenmore redevelopment plans
Two redevelopment plans were approved, one in South Akron and one in Kenmore. The proposals affect vacant and underused property, commercial and industrial areas, residential development, business expansion, infrastructure and redevelopment financing.

South Akron is located directly east of Summit Lake. The primarily residential neighborhood offers diverse market and bakery options including longtime meat and fish markets.
