Your weekend plans

Firestone Theatre will stage “Check Please” this weekend, with performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Sunday’s show will be followed by a talk-back with the cast and crew in the theater. The play examines the world of modern dating through a series of humorous blind dates. Tickets are $13.35. 

On Saturday, Led Zeppelin cover band Zoso will take the stage at the Akron Civic Theatre. The band, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is well-known for its performances and musical prowess. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 to $32.50 before fees.

Spend time in nature Sunday at Hike YogAdventure. The event is hosted by health and wellness group OneTreeLove and takes place at Richfield Heritage Preserve. Attendees will explore breathing exercises and yoga sequences as they hike through the preserve. Participants must be at least 12 years old and should be able to walk on uneven terrain. All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets are $8.50 to $17. 

    Catch it before it goes

    The Akron Art Museum’s “GLOW: Neon and Light” ends Sunday, Feb. 9. Guests can view the exhibit Sunday during Family Day: GLOW from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The special event will feature dancing and juggling performances, face painting, bead making, painting and more. Registration is requested. Family Day is free to attend with admission.

    RubberDucks hosting virtual auditions for national anthem performers
    Think you have the vocal chops to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a RubberDucks game this year? Send in a video submission by Friday, Feb. 21, and you might get the chance to take the field at Canal Park. Auditions are open to singers, musicians and vocal groups with five singers or fewer.
