Ohio’s voter registration deadline lands on Oct. 5 — prospective voters must be registered by then in order to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election.

National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 15, and multiple opportunities are being offered in Akron beginning Saturday to help residents register, check their registration status, make a voting plan and find resources for the election.

Voter registration can be submitted online, by mail or in person, including at any Akron-Summit County Public Library branch or any deputy registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

You can also register on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website.

To register to vote, you will need a valid Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number, a current address and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Bring these documents and attend any of the Akron-area voter registration events. (For more information about voter registration and being prepared to vote, read Signal Akron’s voting resource.)
