This week, the weather finally started to feel like fall, and next week is supposed to be even more autumnal — outside of a slight uptick in temperature Sunday.

On Friday, Mason Park Community Center (700 E. Exchange St., Akron) will host Kids Night Out from 4:30 to 8 p.m. After chowing down on pizza and snacks, kids can choose from sports, arts and crafts and other games and activities before wrapping up the night with a movie. The event is $5 per child.

Experience “Pulp Fiction” on the big screen Saturday at Cinema at The Civic. In honor of the film’s 30th anniversary, the Civic will host a screening, complete with a pre-party, beginning at 6 p.m., and themed cuisine provided by Good Company Akron. (Royale with cheese, anyone?) Guests are encouraged to dress as a character from the film. The person with the best costume will receive an annual membership to the Nightlight movie theater. The screening begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

Hike the same trail that Native American tribes once walked at Sunday’s History of the Portage Path and Artist’s Talk. A Summit Metro Parks archaeologist will lead the 2-mile walk, which will explore important historic waterways. Artist Peter Jones will be on site afterward to discuss the two statues he created honoring Indigenous cultures, which can be found at the northern and southern ends of the Portage Path. Guests should meet at the Big Bend area of Sand Run Metro Park (1337 Merriman Road, Akron) at 10:30 a.m. Jones will be available at noon at the statue located at North Portage Path and Merriman Road. The event is free to attend.

A note about an upcoming event: Pete Rose, Major League Baseball’s all-time hit leader who left a controversial legacy after betting on professional baseball, died Monday at the age of 83. Rose, nicknamed “Charlie Hustle” while playing in Cincinnati, accumulated 4,256 hits over a 23-year playing career. Rose was scheduled to speak at E.J. Thomas Hall on Nov. 8. Ticket holders should receive refunds to their original payment methods within 14 to 21 days.
