Local theater groups announce season lineups
On Sunday, Weathervane Playhouse and Ohio Shakespeare Festival released their upcoming season lineups.
Weathervane’s 90th season runs from Aug. 8 to July 20, 2025, and includes five musicals, two dramas and the organization’s annual festival showcasing new plays. Tickets for the season’s first show, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” are currently on sale, as are subscription packages. Single tickets for the rest of the shows go on sale June 4.

Ohio Shakespeare Festival’s 2024-2025 season runs from July 4 to May 18, 2025, and includes six shows and the organization’s annual Halloween gala. Single tickets for all shows go on sale Monday, April 1, and subscriber packages are now available. Early bird pricing for the Halloween gala is available until Thursday, Aug. 1.

Your weekend plans

The Original Silk Band plays Jilly’s Music Room Friday at 8 p.m. The Northeast Ohio group plays R&B, funk and Motown music with the aim of getting the audience out of their seats and on the dance floor. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online or at the door.

Little ones can celebrate the arrival of spring Saturday at the Hop Along Storybook Bunny Trail at Northwest Family Recreation Center. Children can read along the storybook trail, play games, collect eggs and go on a scavenger hunt. The Easter Bunny will also be on site for pictures. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is free to attend.

The Millennial Theatre Project will present “The Beautiful and Damned” Sunday at the Knight Stage. The play is based on the 1922 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald and follows the story of a young married couple navigating the excesses of high society. The show begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 plus fees.
