Each week, I feature three events happening that weekend in this newsletter. Finding events is never an issue – there is always something to do in Akron. The real struggle is only choosing three.
If you’re looking for things to do around Akron and Summit County – whether this weekend, next Monday or next month – here are some local calendars to check out.

Three things to do this weekend in Akron:

Weathervane Playhouse will stage “Aida” Friday at 7:30 p.m. The musical is an adaptation of the Italian opera of the same name that tells the epic love story of two princesses, Aida and Amneris, and the Egyptian soldier they both love, Radames. Tickets are $36 plus fees for adults and $14 plus fees for children.

The weather is still unpredictable, but Street Craftery wants to help you channel spring at its Saturday class, Moss Art On Canvas. Participants will use vibrantly colored, preserved moss and other natural elements to create abstract wall art. The event is from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $65.

Audience members of all ages will have a ball at Puppy Pals Live! Sunday at the Civic Theatre. The show was created by Wesley Williams, who leads his crew of rescued and adopted dogs through a variety of tricks and stunts. The tail-wagging fun begins at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $22.
Catch it before it goes
Saturday is the last day to view Summit Artspace’s winter exhibitions. The galleries are open Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This weekend is also the final run for the Ohio Shakespeare Festival’s “The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby” at Greystone Hall. Tickets are still available for Friday and Saturday’s evening performances and Sunday’s matinee.
Stories to watch
