On Monday, March 9, Outley proposed to the Akron Board of Education $11 million in proposed cuts. The board will vote on the proposal at its March 23 meeting.

Akron Public Schools will move to ‘nuts and bolts’ in next round of budget cuts

An Akron Public Schools proposal would redistrict Leggett CLC to become part of the Garfield Cluster (shown in yellow). Approximately 50 rising sixth graders would then attend Innes CLC instead of Jennings CLC, currently in the North Cluster, each year over the next three years, for a total of about 150 students. Officials said this plan is an incremental adjustment and would prevent a larger, district-wide shift. It is also designed to eliminate overcrowding in Jennings CLC, which is at 99% capacity.
