Here are three things to do in and around Akron this weekend.

Your Akron weekend plans

The University of Akron Arts Academy will stage three performances of Disney’s “The Aristocats KIDS” Friday and Saturday. The 45-minute production is based on the 1970 Disney film and features students from the university’s Summer Arts Camp. Performances take place on campus at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Guzzetta Hall. Tickets are $11.28.

Sample local beer and wine, enjoy live music and mingle with some animals (but not too close) at Saturday’s Brew at the Zoo. Tickets to the Akron Zoo event include eight drink samples and admission to the zoo. (Be sure to check out its newest exhibit, DinoTrek, which includes 20 life-size animatronic dinosaurs.) Local food trucks will be on site. Tickets are $43-$48. Designated drivers can purchase discount tickets for $25-$35.

On Sunday, head to the Mustill Store Museum for Jazz on the Trail. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a live performance from Resolve, a jazz/R&B group led by Akron saxophonist Donovan Shaeffer. The music begins at 4 p.m. Can’t make it Sunday? Jazz on the Trail will also take place July 20 and Aug. 17.
