Your weekend plans

Need to catch up on this year’s Oscar-nominated films? Head to The Nightlight and catch showings of several films: “Flow” (animation), “The Substance” (horror), “No Other Land” (documentary) and “The Brutalist” (drama). All four of the films have screenings Saturday, plus additional screenings Friday and Sunday. General admission to The Nightlight is $10, or $8 for seniors and students, plus a $1 booking fee per ticket.

The Akron Symphony will perform Gustav Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony at its Saturday evening concert. The performance will also feature soprano Sonya Headlam, alto Amanda Lynn Bottoms and the Akron Symphony Chorus and Summit Choral Society. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at E.J. Thomas Hall. Tickets are $20-$60.

Irish folk act The High Kings & Mary Black will perform at the Goodyear Theatre on Sunday. The tour marks Black’s return to the United States after almost a decade. Attendees can expect to hear favorites from Black’s extensive catalog. Tickets are $48 to $90 before fees. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
