From the creators of the smash hit “Photo Quiz” comes an entirely new way to show off your expertise in all things Akron. Every Friday we’re giving lucky (all) readers a chance to prove you’re paying attention to the headlines and that you really get Akron’s history, culture and current events. If you get 4 out 4 correct, we’ll give you a shoutout (it’s like the Oscars of shoutouts) in an upcoming newsletter. And now, our feature presentation!
The big explosion in Akron this past week was the state Route 8 Bridge as ODOT demolished the steel skeleton of the old bridge it replaced earlier this year. However, quietly humming along on a residential hill in Goodyear Heights was another project to ensure safe drinking water for Akronites. The Brittain Road Reservoir Project started taking shape in mid-September with the pouring of 1,870 cubic yards of concrete for the base of the new tank.
In addition to the construction season stories, local headlines featured developments across Akron’s 24 neighborhoods. This week’s quiz tests your knowledge of the FirstEnergy Akron Marathon and an expanding video store downtown.
Now, let’s see how well you know Akron’s schools.
Ready. Set. Quiz.
