Here are three things to do this weekend in Akron.

Your Akron weekend plans

On Friday, The Legendary Wailers will take the stage at Lock 3 for a night of reggae music. Led by Junior Marvin, who previously played with Bob Marley, the band will perform some of Marley’s hit songs, such as “One Love,” “Get Up, Stand Up” and more. Reserved seating is $37.50, and general admission is $27.55. (Those with general admission tickets can bring a chair or blanket.) The concert starts at 7 p.m. with opening act Umojah Nation.

Explore works from more than 100 local artists at the annual Akron Art Expo at Hardesty Park. Now in its 46th year, the festival will feature artists who work in a variety of mediums, from ceramics to textiles to jewelry and more. The free event will also feature live entertainment and activities for children. The festival runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Enjoy a performance from the Western Reserve Community Band at Sunday’s Concert at Liberty Park. Founded in 1997, the volunteer musical ensemble includes members from 19 Northeast Ohio communities. The free concert begins at 7:30 p.m. by the nature center. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn and lemonade will be provided. The rain date for the concert is Aug. 3.
