Taste this: Chicken momo ($10.99 as of July 16, 2024) at Momo House, 1548 Home Ave in Akron.

Creator: Sabitra Thulung, co-owner

Eye test: Ten steamed chicken momos, about the size of a typical dumpling, are served on each plate. They have an orange-yellowish tint from the savory and slightly spicy seasonings. The dough is thin and holds a chunk of chicken inside. The dish is served with hot sauce in the middle of the plate.

Process: Ingredients include chicken, cabbage, onion, cilantro, garlic ginger paste, Nepali masala and dough. Ingredients are mixed together, wrapped in the dough and steamed. (Typical spice is a level two).

Beverage pairing: Mango lassi is a yogurt drink that originated in India but is often available in Nepali restaurants.
