An intestinal illness that can cause watery or explosive diarrhea has officially arrived in the City of Akron. Summit County Public Health is investigating 41 reported cases of cyclosporiasis in the county as of July 14. It’s an increase from the three Summit County cases reported by the Ohio Department of Health as of July 2. The illness is caused by a parasite found in contaminated produce.
