A $66 million project to improve Interstate 77 and state Route 8 may be among the statewide road construction projects funded in the next four years.

The project, which would upgrade the road and ramps from Lovers Lane to Perkins Street, is on a draft list of eight high-priority projects that would be funded during the next construction cycle.

The draft list includes a total of 14 statewide projects — at an estimated cost of $319.3 million. The eight construction projects on the draft list would have a total price tag of $295.2 million, while three projects could receive $9.1 million for project development and three more projects could get $15 million in additional development funding.

Selected projects will be approved by the Transportation Review Advisory Council. The council will vote on the final list at its April 23 meeting. The public can comment on the draft list until April 16 by emailing trac@dot.ohio.gov

A total of 26 projects during this cycle applied for funding.
