Over the last few months, more than 300 mostly Akron-area and Northeast Ohio residents helped identify positive actions they thought would most likely bring about improvement in the community.

Doug Oplinger is a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist who was a reporter and editor for 46 years at the Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio.com, the home of John S. Knight. After retirement in 2017, he worked with Ohio newsrooms and the Center for New Democratic Processes to build the largest statewide media collaborative in the country, Your Voice Ohio. Today, he works with and designs a variety of community conversations for journalists, professional organizations, religious groups and communities.
