Inside one Akron teacher’s mission to help Buchtel CLC students fall in love with reading
The idea for the Love for Literacy project came after English teacher Shannon Turick said she noticed her students had fallen out of love with reading, especially after the pandemic. They wanted to listen to audiobooks, not read novels that filled her bookshelves.
Signal Akron’s coverage of the Akron Public Schools aims to serve the more than 20,000 students and their families in the district with the information they need and want, from the administration to the school board to what’s happening in individual schools and classrooms.
