Ready-to-build housing plans are available for use in Akron
There are six Akron plans, ranging from a cottage to a three-unit building, allowing for homes on narrow lots and those that can house multiple families.
Akron Mayor Shammas Malik took the oath of office on January 1, 2024, for his first four-year term. Malik, who was the Ward 8 council member, became the presumptive mayor when he finished first in the seven-candidate Democratic primary and did not face a Republican challenger in the general election.
