Overlooking downtown, West Hill leans into its history while looking forward
West Hill is the “Best Hill,” proclaims a brightly painted mural along Glendale Avenue in this Akron neighborhood just west of downtown. The long, horizontal sign, created by Kim Lavery and Roni Callahan with Snack Break Studio, is tucked between the historic Glendale Steps and Glendale Cemetery.
Akron voters will be faced this year with local, state and national races, along with important legislative and policy issues. Our 2024 election coverage examines these through the lens of how they specifically impact Akronites. We’ll offer explainers that break down the issues and answer basic questions. We’ll highlight people and groups doing voter engagement work in Greater Akron. And, we welcome your feedback on current and future coverage, so don’t hesitate to reach out here or email us at news@signalakron.org.
