Become a Documenter to hold those in power accountable
Signal Akron trains and pays residents to document local government meetings with notes and live-tweet threads. We then make those meeting summaries available as a new public record.
The Documenters program was started by City Bureau in Chicago in 2018 and is used in a growing number of newsrooms across the country.
